For those of you who weren’t aware already, my job is create stunning décor for business events. (I know, crazy!)

However, décor isn’t there to just be pretty, it is their to transform spaces, evoke emotion from your guests, making their experience unforgettable and something they will always associate with you and your brand.

By having the wrong décor that doesn’t align with your event goals and atmosphere, it can make your event pointless.

But don't worry, we can help you avoid this.

Below is 3 tips to stop you from wasting your time, money and energy on décor that is not serving a purpose.

Understanding the Purpose Of Your Event

Firstly, you need to ask yourself (or your marketing and events team) these 3 questions before your event planning starts:

What are you celebrating/showing off?

What do you want to gain from this event?

Why are your having this event?

By answering these questions you will be able to my decisions that truly align with your needs and goals.

Questioning the need for décor

Sometimes, an event needs simplicity so it doesn’t take away from the star of the show. For example, if you are hosting a Pilates event and you want event to emulate calmness, going over the top with décor isn't going to help the vibe. Simplicity and elegance is what keeps the calm vibe going so the décor has to be along those lines to ensure the brand doesn't get lost and the event becomes pointless. So if décor isn’t going to improve or elevate your guests experience, then don’t book it.

Big Budgets Don't Always Mean Better Events

Throwing more money into making it look nice, isn’t going to save your event or increase the ROI. Your event can look go but if everything else is mediocre and doesn't match the standard, it will just be mediocre as well as disappointing to your guests.

And nobody wants to disappoint their guests.

No matter the event, the décor must match the vibe you are wanting to create for your guests.
